Who killed Soujanya?

On October 9th of 2012 a girl aged 17 years studying in Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College in Ujire, Dakshina Kannada went missing. Right after the report of missing, her body was found in a state of brutally murdered and sexually assaulted state near the Nethravathi River.

The local police seemed fast to act and arrested Santhosh Rao, a resident of the area, labelling him as a prime suspect. However, it was seen that the police have fouled in several investigation protocols and are seen protecting the real culprits from getting punished. So, because of this, the protest to give this matter to CBI and CID raised tension and eventually it was transferred to the CBI and CID in 2013.

However, this did not bring any fruitful results as the initial police investigation has fouled and possibly destroyed evidences. CBI in its report says there was almost nothing left to investigate and there is no conviction in holding Santhosh Rao as guilty as there was lack of evidence and no proof that he has committed the crime as the crime was so brutal that for eyesight it never seemed to have done by an individual. So, he was released in 2023.

Now, if he was innocent who committed the crime? Many locals and parents of Soujanya believe and accuse that this was committed by the prominent associates of Nischal Jain, who is the son of Harshendra Hegde who is also a younger brother of Veerendra Hegde. Those associates are Dhiraj Jain, Uday Jain and Mallik Jain. However, Nischal Jain’s father presented documents that cleared him because the document stated that he was in the USA on the day of the crime. As for the other trios, they were cleared as they had alibis for their presence elsewhere on the day of the crime.

However, it is clear as crystal that there is hidden truth hiding in deep shadows unreachable to the constitution and legal frameworks. If the police had upheld their duty instead of covering for culprits if CBI and CID had looked in several other dimensions rather than getting tired of circling around Santhosh Rao if locals had come up boldly as witnesses rather than alibis of those Jain trios, and if the court had pushed and questioned the investigation parties rather than asking the petitioner to submit evidence that revoke the case. Then Soujanya would have been Resting in Peace unfortunately she is still fighting for justice.

Let us act

Camping near Belthangady Police Station leaving our families as it be, leaving our content as it be, let us join hands and take investigations to our hands. Until the culprit is found let us not budge from the place. The locals also want truth so they will shelter us. There are so many big hands that will come forward to lend hands to this act. The government also want the truth they will also give us shelter. But let us act not create. Anyone can lead this moment. This should not be a mere protest shouting slogans should be an act that brings truth.

Personal perspective: -

The modern society is so toxic that attracts hatred in the name of content creation. Not because of the content primarily but because the content you present may be in search of truth but the way that presentation is done tells the other way around. If you seek truth, you should be transparent and should hold no regrets. Truth has one way and that is in my perspective to attain or detain. Especially in a matter such as this you should be precise and should be naked in presenting the truth.
